TURN BACK TIME THIS WEEKEND

TURN BACK TIME THIS WEEKEND

Summer is over, winter is almost here and the rain is falling steadily.

That means daylight savings time is coming to an end and it's time to plan to turn the clocks back on Sunday morning.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said that daylight savings is finally coming to an end at 2am on Sunday morning.

"While our phones, our tablets, our smart watches and our computers will be way ahead of us in turning time back an hour, consider this your friendly reminder to change the clocks hanging on the wall," Mr Anderson said.

"The slow march towards the end of daylight savings is my reminder that the daylight savings period is just too long for our region, and for those further west.

"It's just too dark getting up in the morning to justify 6 months of daylight savings, and I feel for those families further west who have been putting their kids on buses in the dark.

"We need to return to four months of daylight savings for the benefit of our farmers and I'll look forward to taking up the fight in parliament again this year."
