Connecting Tamworth to the world by rail
The NSW Government is investing in Tamworth's growing industries by re-establishing freight rail services in the city.
$35.4 million has been provided by the Government to replace 5km of track from Westdale to West Tamworth, paving the way for a freight rail operator to establish a presence in the city.
This project gives local producers and manufacturers better access to national and global markets, ensuring they can ship their goods in an efficent, cost effective way.
Tamworth Regional Council are currently in negotiations to bring a freight rail operator to the city.
