NSW YOUTH WEEK A REMINDER TO CLAIM VOUCHERS
With NSW Youth Week kicking off today, Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is reminding local parents to take advantage of the hugely popular Active Kids and Creative Kids Vouchers, made available by the NSW Government.
Mr Anderson said this year’s $100 vouchers were released in January and local families had until Friday the 30th of June to claim and spend the vouchers.
“The Active Kids and Creative Kids Vouchers are a great opportunity for parents to introduce their kids to a new activity without having to outlay a significant amount of money at a time when the cost of living remains so high,” Mr Anderson said.
“I know our families are doing it tough, with many having to make the agonising decision of cutting back on activities to keep food on the table and to stay up to date on mortgage or rent payments.
“That’s why these vouchers are so important, ensuring that our kids don’t miss out on things like learning to swim, giving dancing a go, or playing footy for their local club.
“Parents with kids aged between 4 and a half and 18 are eligible so make sure you get your hands on a voucher today.”
The Active Kids program provides a $100 voucher for parents, guardians, and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year.
The Creative Kids program provides a similar $100 voucher to be used towards the cost of lessons and fees with registered Creative Kids providers.
Current vouchers released on January 1 are valid until 30 June 2023.
“There’s still a couple on months to go on this year’s vouchers so any parent who hasn’t accessed their vouchers have plenty of time to claim,” Mr Anderson added.
“Any interested parent should jump on the Service NSW website, have a look at registered providers in our area, and apply.”
