Fate brought Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson MP and the Quirindi Probus Club together on a sunny day in Quirindi this week.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson MP said he was walking along Station Street when the club invited him to speak.

"Probus is an outstanding organisation that connects older people, keeping them active and socially connected to their community," Mr Anderson said.

"We know that for older people, it is incredibly important to keep and active mind and an active body, and that's what probus does for retired or semi-retired community members.

"It was just lucky that I was walking down the main street of Quirindi as the local probus club were meeting. It was even luckier that their meeting's speaker had pulled out and I was able to fill in!

"Thank you to the ladies of the Quirindi probus club for having me along on a sunny Tuesday, it was a pleasure to hear from them, and to be able to share a little bit of my story."
