ANDERSON’S PUSHING FORWARD WITH STRONG PLAN FOR THE REGION
Investment in new public infrastructure will drive the local economy forward according to the Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson who is outlining his plan for the region ahead of the 2025/26 NSW Budget.
Mr Anderson said delivering on the region’s key priorities would mean building better facilities and services while keeping people in jobs and growing the local economy.
“Our economy has been growing steadily thanks to strong investment in public and private infrastructure,” Mr Anderson said.
“Projects like the new Tamworth Mental Health Unit, Gunnedah Hospital, Gunnedah Saleyards and Koala Park, and the Tamworth Skywalk are well underway, keeping the local economy moving.
“It’s important to keep planning for the future and that’s why I have a long list of projects that I want to see funded.
“The 2025/26 budget is a good opportunity to remind the Labor Government that we take investment in our region seriously. We need funding for new projects, right through from planning to construction and my long-term plan sets the agenda for keeping the pressure on.”
Mr Anderson’s long-term plan includes funding for projects like:
- Tamworth Drug and Alcohol detoxification unit
- Moore Creek School
- Goonoo Goonoo Road duplication
- Upgrades to Manilla and Werris Creek Fire Stations
- UNE Tamworth
- New Moore Creek Fire Station
- Tamworth Industrial Water Recycling plant
- Port Stephens Cutting upgrade
- Tamworth Palliative Care unit upgrade
- Gunnedah Hospital – Stage 2
- Barraba Health Worker Accommodation
- Manilla Viaduct funding
- Tamworth Pet Scan – prostate cancer capability
- Tamworth Crown Land Housing project
“My plan for our electorate will grow the local economy while also delivering the infrastructure upgrades our region expects and deserves,” Mr Anderson added.
“I’m calling on Labor to meet our region’s needs and invest in these projects. I’ve given them a strong plan to drive our region forward. It’s up to them to deliver the funding to implement it.”
