Tamworth Hospital’s new Pacemaker Insertion Service is a huge win for the region, saving cardiac patients a time consuming and expensive trip to Newcastle for the lifesaving intervention.

Most importantly, regional patients needing a pacemaker fitted can now look forward to an improved lifestyle far more quickly.

It was an honour to present NSW RFS Group Captain Peter Stevenson with a prestigious NSW Government Community Service Award for his outstanding service during the 2019-20 bushfires.

Fantastic news for the future of mental health care, patients and their carers with the selection of a site for a new ‘Banksia’ Mental Health Unit. It will be constructed next to the main Tamworth Hospital building, in close proximity to the emergency department, and physically connected to existing hospital services, integrating mental health with other acute services

The NSEW Government is providing $100,000 under its COVID-19 stimulus program to upgrade the Sheeba Dams. The twin dams and associated reserve provide a beautiful setting for camping, picnicking and trout fishing. The new work will include maintenance on the earth embankment walls and other improvements.
