FISHERS TO REEL IN THEIR SHARE OF $20 MILLION FOR LOCAL PROJECTS
Local fishers have been encouraged to apply for $20 million in funding through Recreational Fishing Trust grants to help fund projects in their area to improve and promote recreational fishing.
Applications close on 30th October and are open to all in the recreational fishing industry, including clubs and organisations, community groups, and councils.
ROUNDABOUT REMOVES HEAVY VEHICLES FROM CBD
The new $4.5 million Boundary Road roundabout in Gunnedah is taking trucks off the main street and building on plans to ensure a better flow for freight operators. This joint venture with NSW Government and Gunnedah Shire Council has created local jobs through which has helped boost the local economy and improved road safety in the area.

Motorists will be enjoying trips across the new Gunnedah overpass sooner than expected, with work on the new 195 metre long bridge powering ahead and expected to be open to traffic before christmas.

WORKS BEGIN ON MYSTERY ROAD UPGRADE
Mystery Road upgrades begin, putting black tops on our country roads. Providing smoother, safer and efficient roads to deliver our regions produce to the nation. This is a joint project between the NSW State Government, Gunnedah Shire Council and Liverpool Plains Shire Council.
JOBS BOOST FOR TAMWORTH AND THE REGION AS QNI GETS UNDERWAY
Locals will benefit from access to reliable low cost electricity and local job opportunities with the TransGrid upgrades to the Tamworth substation and transmission lines on the Queensland New South Wales Interconnector. Works are underway with local suppliers are on the job, including crane operators, accommodation providers, fencing, tree services, hygiene, safety, electrical and concrete companies.
COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS CAN NOW APPLY FOR NEW CLUBGRANTS FUNDING
NSW Government’s Category 3 Clubgrants program is now open.
Community sporting and cultural organisations are the lifeblood for many communities and this funding can be used for projects that foster equity, social inclusion and participation.
Last year local disability service provider Sunnyfield received $83,100 to buy a wheelchair-modified van.

Funding is available for a range of projects to get more locals participating in sport and recreation activities.
CREATING JOBS TO FIGHT COVID
COVID safety and the creation of local jobs across the Tamworth electorate will be ramped up with an announcement of a $5 million grants scheme for the domestic manufacturing of PPE supplies.
These new grants will be awarded to manufacturers who can demonstrate their ability to ramp up or repurpose to manufacture items including masks, gowns, disinfectant, hand-wash and soap.
