Water is wealth and dams are the bank. That is why the Commonwealth and NSW Government’s have committed to building the new Dungowan Dam, a project that will help secure the future of water security for Tamworth.
This once in a generation project is now underway with $1.28 billion committed by the Commonwealth and state governments. Work on the new Dungowan Pipeline has commenced and will replace the 70-year-old existing pipeline.
Work on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) continues and is due for release before the end of the year
The NSW Government has reserved more than $600 million to go towards the project, dependent on planning approval and a 50% Federal Government funding committment.
